Ok, so this is quite a dilema. He is 8, wolf & malamute mix, has a knot about 1/2 the size of a golf ball, bloody mucus was stopping up his nose, still having trouble breathing, won't drink, or eat, mucus in his eyes, and about 20 mins ago started bleeding from his nose. I finally got it stopped, but he is very sick. The problem with taking to a vet, is he is usually very aggresive towards vets especially. To vaccinate him I have to give the shots to him because no one wants to get that close to him? Is there something that I can do?

I can't muzzle him or he can't breathe.

You probably want to get him to a vet ASAP! Call wolf rescue centers around you and ask them. At the very least get someone there with you to call the vet and repeat instructions while you work with him.
Okay, some of you people are real idiots and it's starting to TICK ME OFF. (S)he probably is looking for actually vet advice, because a lot of places don't have ER for animals. you also might want to think about the fact that this animal is part wolf and so he is more dangerous than a normal dog because, although these animals are gorgeous, they are a lot smarter and have a very strong "flight or fight" instinct. since the vet would be in a confined area, they would fight. Not a pretty thing.

You would be amazed at how many crazy animals Vets treat on a daily basis, if you can get your dog to the Vet that is all you should worry about they will do the rest. If he is very sick he won't put up much of a fight as mean as that may sound. Where is the golf ball sized lump located? Has he been neutered? Being that large of a dog means that there is a shorter life span so keep that in mind and prepare yourself. Give him ice cubes to lick and if hes not eating anyways pull his food until you get to the vet in case they need to sedate him or do surgery. Is he thin or has he lost weight lately? These are questions you should have ready to answer. Good Luck.

Since you don't say where the lump is that is impossible to answer.

Do you live where there are ticks?? If so he might have erlichia...this disease can & will kill any animal that contracts it!! {even horses get it} If that is what's wrong with your hybred then the vet is your only chance to save the dog. Even if it erlichia is not in your area he can be the first case that comes thru and if you have been any place else, camping, etc. he can have it. All the symptoms you include are signs of erlichia. {including swollen lymph glands, bleeding from the nose & mouth, etc.}

There is a muzzle that is a metal type thing that allows the dog to open his mouth, breath, drink, etc. but not bite, invest in one.

These hybreds are NOT like a regular dog, I had one & if you don't remain top dog you will never be able to control him.

Get this guy to the vet, they have muzzles, his life is hanging in the balance and there is NOT MUCH TIME.

You need to get to the vet NOW. Call ahead and let them know you are coming with an aggressive dog. Let them know what he is and his size. Tell them to have a muzzle ready for him and a tranquilizer wouldn't be a bad idea either. You need to put the muzzle on him but a vet will have to give the tranquilizer. If he makes it through this, get your own muzzle for him so that you can take him to the vet in cas of emergency. It should be loose enough that he can pant but not bite. It should be buckled firmly behind the ears so he cannot slip it off. Also, if he makes it through this, you need a behaviorist to come TO YOUR HOUSE and show you how to control this animal. You must get in control before someone gets bitten. Hybrids are not like dogs and need an owner who understands them and their needs. Contact a zoo and ask to speak with the wolf keepers for more help specific to wolf behavior. No offense meant but do not get another hybrid until you learn more about wolf behavior and can honestly say to yourself that you can control it in all situations.

*** In regards to your update: He CAN breathe with a muzzle on if it is fitted correctly. Read what I wrote about sizing. Right now you don't have a choice about it. Either put a muzzle on him or let him die. It will probably only be on long enough for a sedative to take effect anyway. Your dog sounds like he has a tumor or serious infection and it MUST be treated. You just don't have a choice about it. I'm sorry. ***

Put a muzzle on him and get him to the vet now. Bloody mucus in the nose says there may be serious lung problems.

Your vet will tell you if he doesn't want to treat your animal. Don't forget - your vet deals with animals every day.

You need to muzzle and get him to the vet once there the vet can give him a sedative so as to examine him

This article shows how to make a muzzle using a tie, panting hose, any longer strip of fabric

nicely nasal congestion is brought about by technique of the inflammation of the blood vessels in the nasal passage inflicting the mucus to get "clogged". once you blow your nostril probability are there's a splash decrease or something in the interior nostril and a few blood is popping out. I had this concern a week in the past yet i think of my concern grew to become into the nasal spray that i grew to become into taking, it stung and dried each and every thing out, which i think of brought about the bleeding.

I know its hard but you will have to go to the vet there ways to get around his aggressiveness you might need knock him out (make him go to sleep by shots)then work with him and/or even though this would not be a good idea restrain him by your self.
that is a hard thing to get straight

Call your vet and ask for a sedative to give him before bringing him in. He has a tumor or serious infection, that needs professional treatment right away..

You can get pills off the vet to calm it down,it would be too dopey to put up much of a fight. The longer you leave it the worse it will become,at the moment you are being very cruel. Liz animal lover.
