My friend's camera,a Sony Cybershot n50, has a brownish-black spot showing up in the middle of pictures. The spot is a little over halfway down.

Her brother threw it against a door about a week ago but it just started showing up today. We're not sure if that caused it or if something else is doing it.If you have any ideas they'd be most appreciated.By the way, she did trying wiping the lens off already.

sounds like a speck of dust has got onto the sensor .. you might be able to shift it with an airbrush .. but dont attempt to clear it by touching with anything.

You might want to take it to a camera shop to have it cleaned professionally; it might be a spot on the sensor, it you're lucky. As the first reply suggests, do not try to touch it or clean it with your finger... you CAN cause irreparable damage.

OMG ITS LIKE THE GRUDGE2....
Haha, seriously now though I think something got "moved" when the camera was banged against the door which allows the "light" to be converted into that dark spot.
