I loved the "Homer Simpson" avatar. It reminds me of myself. LOL.

Oh sure, and I like to see if I or anyone I know got any ratings one way or the other. Plus I like to see what answer gets best answer whether or not it is mine.

Not necessarily for comparison but I love to see what my friends have answered, give them thumbs up and see what other opinions are about the subject.
I love to learn new things.. and even if I don't, I'm sure to be entertained :)

Oh sure. After I've answered I like to see what others have said. Sometimes I'll go back after that to see what people who answered AFTER me have said. And to see how many votes I've gotten - although my degree of interest there varies.

The truth is the main reason I do it is to kill time, give S&C time to fill up with new questions. I have 8 hours to spend out here, and sometimes it gets slow!

Yeah. I like to see how my answer stacks up with others. Plus it's always good to see an argument from different viewpoints.

I often go back and check to see how other people whose opinions I respect (or whose answers make me laugh!) have responded.

I do that frequently. It's interesting, and it's what this place is all about after all.
