Where do you live? You can always try the local community centre or pools, they often have special programs for infants.

I'm not sure what country you are in. I can relate, we moved to Germany when my daughter was a baby. I was so terribly lonely and didn't know anyone. After she was already older I found out that there were parenting groups that I could have gone too, I would have at least been meeting more people. Some churches offer parenting group meetings, look into those, even if you are not particularly religious,, these aren't Bible study meetings, they are about parenting. As your daughter gets older take her to play groups. And just be out and about, my mistake was that I confined myself to my apartment much of the time. Then I started walking in the evenings and I would run into this other Mom all the time, her son was about the same age as my daughter, that was 6 years ago and we are still friends now. I also meet a lot of friends through my daughter's activities now that she's older. Hope I helped, I know what that "new Mom, new situation" loneliness feels like, it's not fun.

Try going to a church and see if they have a moms group. Our church has a group that meets once a month for a meeting with free child care and once a month for a play date. Or go to the park on a nice day. Moms have been cooped up all winter and love to let their little ones soak up the sun and get out the wiggles.

Contact the local Seventh Day Adventist church, they have really good programs. They have mothers day out, even wednesdays day out...some adults volunteer to take care of the babies and the mothers get to spend some quality time and make friends.

Check with a local hospital, church or daycare. They should be able to point you in the right direction.
