most of the time the tv holds us together...what can i do for the conversation to keep going? i really dont talk a lot, so please help!

If casual conversation that reflects the events of your day is hard to come by, make a game of it. Try coming up with random questions in your free time, then asking her (for instance, something like "What was the scariest moment in your life that didn't involve something serious" or "If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be and what would you do," or "Give me three facts about yourself, two true, one false, and I'll try to guess which one is false.")
Put some effort into it, and make it different than the normal, "How was your day," questions. By making it fun, you can open your conversation up to other things :)

Make sure you are focused on her. Don't be distracted because then you won't listen and will probably end up saying something dumb at a bad time. Ask her how her day is and what she's up to. Have a funny story ready to tell her something that happened to you that day. If your relationship is about the TV, maybe it's time to find a new relationship!

Listen! this is what you do write down a bunch of question and the just ask your girlfriend those question that should get the conversation going for you.

talk about your family and then ask about hers and that should really keep a conversation going. and then soon other topics will come up and that t.v. wont matter anymore. also talk about school and other things like work or something. the conversation will flow once you talk about something that has alot of details...
