I'm needing a list of the different color variations found in cockatiels (such as lutino, cinnamon). I'm wanting to google them to see which one I want to look for before contacting breeders. Thanks!

Gray--found in the wild with grey body, yellow head, orange cheek patches, and white trim on wings.

Pearl----scalloped look /males lose their pearling once they

Pied----multi-colored

emerald or olive or spangeled--pale grey with a yellow wash

white face---no yellow or orange present.

Yellow cheek---yellowish orange cheeks instead of bright orange

Pastel Face---light wash to orange patches

Lutino---white or yellow bird with orange cheek patches

cinnamon--a very light gray that looks tan or cinnamon colored

and varients fo the above
such as a whiteface lutino some call this an albino

There is also in pieds you can get that is called a heavy or clear pied. These birds can look like lutinos and whiteface lutinos. the only difference is that their eyes are black instead of red

go to this site and you can click what kind of variation you would l ike to see a sample of and it will come up with many photos to look at:

Well, pieds tend to have lots of grey and yellow heads. They may have white too. Pearls have lots of grey, more then Pieds and have general spot like colors. Like my pearl is mostly grey, with white spots on her. Grey head, but has a small amount of yellow. Lutinos are generally white. With yellow heads. Orange cheeks. hope that helps!

omg get a white cockatiel. We got one of ours that is white with thin grey streaks cheap for $100 even though it took about 3 years to breed to get the color. A white cockatiel is the most beautiful one you'll ever see.
