Are you feeding a proper food?

Food like Iams, Pedigree, Old Roy and store brands do not offer all the nutrients your dog needs, therefore they can eat and eat but still not have proper nutrition.

Try switching to a quality food if you haven't already such as Nutro or Royal Canin

If you haven't had him checked for worms you need to.
There are several different types of worms that can cause a dog to become underweight.
If you don't have him checked and the worms eradicated, he will eventually get sick and weak.

And only puppies will have a bloated belly with worms. Not adult dogs.

I know I already answered but afterwards I read some of the other answers and usually when a dog has worms it has no muscles but has a huge pot-belly. Just thought you might want to know.

How old is he?? If he is still a pup, then you don't want him heavy, he needs to grow first, then fill out. If he is an adult, then have him checked for parasites.
