How can I let him know I like him subtly?

Question

I'm 17 and the guy I like is 21. There are a few problems with the situation.
1. He's a lot older...how do I know if he just thinks of me as a 'little girl'?
2. It's really hard to flirt for me, as I'm so shy.
3. To make it even more difficult, I only see him at ballroom dancing lessons, where we dance together a lot. This makes flirting hard because there is already so much physical contact required, as well as eye contact and all that sort of thing. We have a lot of fun together, and don't stop laughing for the whole lesson. I'm about to start rivate lessons, and competing, and he's offered to partner me for the competition, but not officially as he already has a partner.
I don't want to just tell him outright, because if he rejects me or whatever, then that's going to make dancing really awkward, and I could easily end up without a partner. Same if he didn't reject me, eventually.
Question is, how can I flirt subtly and find out if he likes me or not?

Ok..I'm a dance teacher and there are SOO many ways to do this..but YOU can flirt all day and never know. Is he the kind of guy who will tell you one way or the other? If he's like you, he won't. Then this game will go on until it's too late! You have to put yourself out there a little bit. Make a lot of eye contact, try practicing out of the studio. Your shyness could make him be asking this same question, or he could think you are not interested! .....and by the way..He's NOT way older than you! :)

Just say something like " I don't even have this much fun with my girlfriends!" And look deep into him eyes but only for like 9 seconds and he will get the idea! And Um mm well him thinking that your to young isn't a bad thing in every way because men like innocence.

And if your a believer in people picking up on other peoples emotions then he already knows. But 10 to 1 he do sent want to try anything with you until you are 18teen ether because he doesn't wanna have problems or because when you guys do finally get together everything should be perfect.

Personnally? I think you're too young. But if you wish to mess things up? I'd say, just go lay your head on his shoulder. sns tell him some problem. Car trouble, Family worries, any number of items. Even B.S. if you have to. That gets him to see that you've got it for him. Nature will take over. But I wanna know when it falls aprt. `Cause it will. I promise! Good Luck! You're gonna need it.

I think the best thing you can do is put all of your passion into dancing and especially dancing with him. If you get better, it will only make him a better dancer and when a woman makes a man feel as if he is better in her presence, he will eventually fall in love with you.

It's obvious that he likes you. You don't have to do anything. Drop phrases about getting together to practice, or doing something outside of dance sometime. That will open the door for him to ask you out.

ummm....he likes you. zoom out. his offer was his subtle hint to you. he's probably playing it safe until you're 18 though, since right now you're still "jail bait." have fun. dance and relax and enjoy yourself, and let things happen naturally. tell him you are still thinking about his offer of help. that's your subtle response to his subtle request for more time with you. good luck!!
