With a strong and frequent laxative, you don't give your body enough time to process the food. If it is not processed, then you do not absorb the food (calories). I see what you are saying about the pill. If you can absorb the pill, then you can absorb the calories. Yes, some calories are absorbed. But not nearly as many as you are eating. In one end and out the other nearly as quick. This is the same as bulimia. The person eats the food and then vomits it before the body can process it. Some just don't like vomiting so they go the laxative route. Bulimia can cause swelling of the cheeks and/or erosion of the teeth due to the stomach acid swishing in their mouth.

They temporarily make you a few pounds lighter because they suck out the food and liquid in your body. The weight you lose will come back when you eat and drink again. Also, if you do this to lose weight your body can actually go into famine mode and make you fatter because it thinks you are starving to death and wants to help you. You are better off eating raw veggies for a few days making sure you get protein from eggs or lean deli meats.

Are you mad?. If you are serious about this then I suggest you get some professional help. Leave your insides alone - it takes a long time for your body to absorb nutrients etc assuming that you are actually eating anything. This is unatural and will put unnecessary strain on your insides - if you think this will make you look good you are sadly mistaken.

This is a bad direction to think about. Bulimics have been known to do this. Yes to an extent it does work, but it is at least unhealthy and at worst dangerous.
Usual answer, Correct amount of well chosen calories in, regular exercises to get them used up. No tricks, you will not fix it that way.

Laxatives help you lose a little weight temporarily (mostly water weight), but will mess up your system so bad that you end up constipated and gaining weight due to your body developing a dependence on it. Bad idea!!!

I have to agree, if you are considering doing this yourself to lose weight pls get some help.
Overuse of laxatives is a very serious issue when it comes to doing damage to your body.
If you have a friend that is considering doing it, or is already doing it pls tell them to get some help.

only anorexics use that method. it is very unhealthy because it absorbs the water from your bloodstream and moves it to your digestive system, which in turn leaves you extremely dehydrated.
