The 2007 4-cyl. 2WD RAV4 gets about 24 city/30 highway, while the 4WD averages 23 city/27 highway. In my opinion that's not bad, but it isn't very good either. A major reason is the weight of the vehicle. The underpowered 4-cyl. struggles to move the car more than the V6 does. As a result it drinks more fuel than other 4-cyl. vehicles. I have a 2000 Infiniti I30, with a V6, which averages about 20 city/28 highway. That's not that bad for a V6 and its not too far from the 4-cyl. fuel consumption either. My point is, don't be afraid to buy a V6. You'll definitely benefit from the extra needed power and you'll only sacrifice a little bit in terms of fuel. And belive me, you don't want to end up underpowered on the highway, in the mountains or with the AC on during the summer.

Its decent, rated at 24 city and 30 mph on the highway. For an SUV thats excellent. Its a Toyota and it will also be excellent in reliability as well.
