Yes, its fine. But make sure you give him plenty of clear fluid and follow the BRAT system:
Bananas
Rice
Applesauce
Toast (dry)
THese are the easiest foods to keep down and digest. THat means less vomiting and less diaharea (which is always a good thing). And with the fluids- make sure he doesnt "chug" them becuase that could be a big shock to his digestive system and it will just come right back up.
Hope he feels better

Yeah hes sick and with a tummy bug he must be feel pretty awful. The poor guy.
Even now(I'm 15 by the way) if I'm sick with a stomach bug I feel the need to be comforted
I have a younger brother who's 4 now and when he was that age if he was the slightest sick he had to have his pacifier and teddy with him all the time(now its just his teddy, i know that's a bit babyish but normally he doesn't have the teddy Just when he's sick he makes sure he has it)
Of course its fine for him to have it hes ill and still young. If he was older then depending on how ill he was I don't think he should really have it, 16months is still young enough.

I know when I am sick I would love to have a comfort item.:)
If you think having his pacifier will help him feel better when he is sick, why not let him have it? He is 16 months old.
Let him kick the pacifier habit when he doesn't feel so poopy.
Be thankful he has something to comfort him. When he is older and feeling terrible you will wish there was something you could do for him.
Now, no worries. I hope he feels better.

We all need comfort when sick. Your toddler needs it for now.
However, be prepared to try and substitute distractions once your boy gets better. my friend's toddler only used pacifiers to nap but when she got sick, she really wanted it andgot pretty dependent on the pacifier because of that. When her baby got better, it was like withdrawel symptoms from and addiction. it took them a week to ease it away from her and 2 weeks get it back to only needing it for naps

Totally OK. My daughter is 21 months old with an ear infection right now and she has been with her binky (pacifier) all day. Imagine how terrible they feel and can't communicate their pains with you other than by crying. Its not in their vocabulary to verbalize their every feeling, yet. Whatever calms and soothes him, he deserves.

Yes, it is very normal. When someone is sick - no matter how old - they want to feel better. And, having something that is comforting to them - even if it is just an emotional comfort - helps. Let him keep his pacifer and make sure to give him lots of snuggles! Hope he gets feeling well soon!

It is very normal...when they are sick, a child will find something that will comfort him which can be their mommy, favorite blanket, a bottle, a toy, and even a pacifier. So, just do what makes your child feel better. Good luck and I hope he feels better soon!!

Hey, it's fine to give him his binky. Being sick sucks for all of us, especially at that age. Theonly time you have to worry about the binky is when his teeth start to separate

Just let him have it while he's sick and when he's better, go back to your normal routine. My son has gone though his phases with the pacifier when he's sick and he doesn't really use it more now than he used to.
