I dont think so. There are certain lines of products made particularly for AA b/c the make-up of our is so different. I would stick to AA lines unless you have really good strong healthy hair. I use a combination of three shampoos depending on what season it is and how long it has been since I have had a perm. My hair is shulder length and healthy. I use Optimum products, Creme of Nature products, and KeraCare. Kera Care is very expensive (14 dollars a bottle), but it is what they use in the salon. One brand of shampoo that is not designed for AA that I do use occasionally is bioterra (not biolage and it is sold at Sally's). It smells great and cleans really good, but it does not detangle. I only use this when I have a fresh perm and with the detangling conditioner. Using products that are not made for you can leave your hair dry, brittle, and tangled. I mean you know what suave does for our skin (be honest). That is exactly what mst of their products do for typical AA hair. Nothing.

I would not use it period. Not even on my dog. African American hair needs a good shampoo and conditioner that is made for moisture. Try some of the professional products like Paul Mitchell, or Aveda. I hear African Pride is good, but have never used it.

It's not good for anyone! A hairstylist told me that is the worse brand to use. She said it's like using dish detergent in your hair.

My mom uses it and her hair is beautiful. It smells good too! But, my mom's hair seems to respond well to most shampoos.
