Chocolate Thunder Cake
1 (18 ounce) package swiss chocolate cake mix
1 1/3 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
1/2 cup vegetable oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
3 large eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 ounce) jar chocolate fudge topping
1 (16 ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed
2 Heath candy bars, crushed
Chocolate Cakes
Bake cake in a 13x9 pan according to directions on box.
Let cool 25-30 minutes in pan.
Poke holes in cake with wodden spoon handle.
Pour on sweetened condensed milk.
Spread evenly and wait 5 minutes.
Pour on fudge topping (I melt it a few seconds in microwave to pour evenly).
Spread evenly and wait 5 minutes.
Spread cool whip over top.
Sprinkle crushed candy bars on top.
Thunder Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
1 box German chocolate cake mix (18 oz. size)
12 ounces cool whip
2 Heath bars, crushed
1 jar chocolate ice cream topping
14 ounces can sweetened condensed milk
Directions:
Bake cake according to directions. Let cool. Poke holes in top of cake and drizzle sweetened condensed milk over top. Then spread chocolate topping over that. (It might help to melt the chocolate a few seconds in the microwave). When cool, spread the cool whip and top with the crushed Heath bars. Keep refrigerated.
Thunder Cake!
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream together one at a time:
1 cup shortening
1 3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs, separated
( blend yolks in. Beat whites until they are stiff, then fold in.)
1 cup cold water
1/3 cup pureed tomatoes
Sift together:
21/2 cups cake flour
1/2 cup dry cocoa
11/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
Mix dry mixture into creamy mixture. Bake in two greased and floured 8
1/2 inch pans at 350 degree for
35 to 40 minutes. Frost with chocolate butter frosting. Top with
strawberries.

Yuck. I can't imagine tomatoes in a cake would be good. They are so acidic that it might taste a bit weird. I would stick to the cake recipes with lots of cocoa and butter...no tomatoes. Eeew.

Technically, tomatoes are classified as a fruit.
Some people will try to put anything into a recipe just to be weird. I once came across a recipe for "Mock Apple Pie" it was made of Ritz Crackers and lemon juice which the author claimed to taste just like apple pie: it didn't.

Yes, There are receipes that you can make tomatoe soup cake. With a cream cheese frosting. You better like tomatoe soup. I never heard of it either till my sister made it.

The tomato puree (or tomato sauce) adds moistness and acidity. You will not really taste it but it is essential to the recipe.
