Tell them what you think your greatest strength is.

IE:
people skills
Design skills
multi tasking
creativity

When they ask for your weakest area:

Whatever answer you decide to use.

You must always also have what you have done to overcome that weakness.

IE:

Class's you took
Book's read
Assignments taken

You could say multi tasking is your weakest area, then tell them that you had ask for assignments that forced you to multi task at your last job. So you could increase your ability.

The best answer is always an honest answer. Take some time to find out what your weaknesses and strengths are. You can invent some and try to impress them, but eventually, your real weaknesses and strengths will peak through and then you'll look like a liar. The trick is to make your weaknesses and strengths look good. Everybody's got a weakness, as long as you know what you're weakness is and you're trying to fix it, you will look good. And your strengths will show them how confident you are and this give you a chance to show off a little.

You need to take the job description into consideration. Mention strengths you have that are related to what they are looking for.

Regarding weaknesses, mention a weakness (unrelated to the job) that you have overcome. For example, you might say that it is challenging when you have a big job to do but don't know how to do it. But, that you've learned where to find valuable resources to help so now you look forward to these challenges.

It's best if you can use stories. Go longer on your strengths (about 2 minutes) and shorter on your weaknesses (30 seconds).

Weakness: Being too much of a perfectionist. But try not to say that directly since a lot of people use that line. Think of something more creative to say.

Strength: Being a great team player but can also work on your own and be a self-starter

Employers value an employee that can work well with the team but can also work individually as well. Versatile might be the word I'm looking for. At least this has been my experience.

When I have interviewed in the past what i have said in regards to my weaknesses are that I am too hard on myself and that I sometimes set too high of expectations for me. My greatest strength is my positive attitude, my kindness to others. What they want to hear is you thinking outside of yourself. Employers are very good about picking out the people who are single minded or not a team player.

if i were you, i'd think about it in earnest and go with the truth, or what you think is the truth.
why? because the person asking this question is usually a prefessional, and much, much better at this whole interview thingie than you are, and probably already knows the answer, and just want to hear if you know it too.
* shrugs* even if not, the truth is going to become apparent quickly enough.

Make your weaknesses your strength, when you are actually voicing yourself, put the strength in your voice, and make your answers professional, coming across confident makes your weakness stronger.

Strengths = reliable, honest, responsible, 'team player', quick learner, etc.--take your pick

Weaknesses = "Often, I am too ambitious," which is a fault, but one that would mean you are planning to stay and advance with that company.
