If he is not bred from AKC registered parents that have been shown to championship and if you don't intend to show him to a championship level and have all of the necessary health checks done before breeding him, then he should be neutered.
I work with a humane society and there are way too many dogs without homes. Chihuahuas in particular have become popular in recent years and we have had a lot of them come through our shelter needing homes. The most reposnsible thing to do is prevent more unwanted puppies.
Neutering is also best for his long-term health.

Fix if you dont want to spend the first 3 yrs of the dogs life trying to find the right mate. And all the right papers. And the right vet. And the right foods for preg dogs. And so on and so on etc.
Breeding dogs is a right and a responsibility! If you cant produce the best of the breed then get them fixed. Not only for the breeds good but for the good of the family pet as well.
Pros to getting them fixed:
Male: calms temperament, more loyal.
Females: Lessens risk of breast cancer, calms temp,No Seasons{heat/blood}to clean up
.
Cons to not getting them fixed:
Males: More protective/aggressive.
Females: Puppies, more $ gone!
Your choice!

If you do not have him neutered, he will still be VERY interested in girl dogs, causing him to mark his territory and be more and more aggressive. He will also have a tendency to wander, looking for girls. The 2 most important reasons, however, is so his chance of having problems with his prostate in later life, such as cancer, is greatly reduced and the world is over populated with dogs and cats. Neuter him while he is young and he will be himself within 2 days. He'll bounce right back and because of his age, hardly an anesthesia risk at all. If he has to have it done when he is older because he is unable to urinate because of an enlarge prostate, the risk will be much higher and the recovery much longer.
I hope you decide to neuter him.

Yes you should. If you are still not sure pay a visit to your local animal control... walk by all the cages and look at the faces of the dogs in them. Every litter of puppies or kittens brought into this world from pets that should not be having them will equal there deaths. Only responsible breeders that show there cats/dogs need to be breeding!!!

The only downside to having a pet fixed is then they can't reproduce. Fixed animals live longer.

50% of dogs die from cancer, and 25% of the time it can be avoiding by fixing. Unless you have a dog by a Champion ***** and Sire, I would say yes.

Ignore Kathy. It doesn't matter on cuteness. Fix your dog. Ask you vet about how old they have to be and such.
Do it.
