About 2 to 3 hours depending on traffic and what part of Seattle you are going to. Everytime I have driven from Portland to Seattle the traffic normally starts getting bad in the Olympia area of I-5 all the way to Seattle.

Hood River could be relaxing to visit, especialy in this time of three hundred and sixty 5 days whilst a large form of the fruit harvesting is going on, there's a think of called the 'Fruit Loop' apersistent you may take from Hood River up interior the path of the growing to be section. Many farms are going to be having harvest fairs contained in right here couple of weeks and that they are loose to visit. it somewhat is a prettypersistent and not that some distance from Portland, approximately an hour. The little downtown in Hood River is gorgeous and the perspectives of Mt. Hood and the Columbia are large. yet another advantageous spot is Bend, somewhat in case you're into outdoors activies. in case you're keen to go a sprint farther approximately 5 a million/2-6 hours, Vancouver Canada is a large city, however with the U. S. dollar approximately regardless of the Canadian dollar, deals at the instant are not tremendously much as good as they was.

Don't forget traffic. Its only 2 1/2 hours on a really good day. Traffic between Seattle and Tacoma can be gridlocked for hours. The rest of the drive is usually okay. Just make sure you don't travel anytime near morning or afternoon rush hour.

From Portland's downtown exits (about #300), to Seattle's downtown exits (about #164), is 172 miles. Figure 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic.

About 180 miles more or less. I would recommend using the Amtrak Cascades train as an alternative between those two cities as the service is fast, low cost and fun!

173.2 miles; approximate driving time 2 hrs. 48 mins.
I got this info from Yahoo Maps (in your Yahoo Toolbar). If you have a street address for your starting point and ending destination, it will give you more specific information and give you detailed driving directions.
I've used this site different times and actually prefer it over Map Quest.

If you are lucky enought to hit minimal traffic, you can do it it just under 3 hours, depending on your exact start & end points. If you get stuck in traffic, it can take 7+ hours.
