I found out I was pregnant at 3 1/2 weeks. Went to the doctor for lower abdominal pain and found out I had a hcg of 7.5 which is just a small amount of increased hormones. A non pregnant women has a lvl of 5.0. So I was very early!!! Hope that helped and Good luck!!!! Oh and hpt still came up negative until I finally missed my first period.

How soon can I test? Well, first you gotta know how the test works. Briefly: the home pregnancy test (HPT) works by detecting a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG.) When an egg is fertilized, it takes about 6 to 12 days to implant in the uterus, and then it begins to secrete hCG. It takes another day or two for enough hCG to build up and make its way into your pee. So, generally speaking, the earliest you can expect a positive HPT is 8 days past ovulation ("DPO") and the latest would be about 16 DPO. It is possible to get a positive test earlier or later, but not as common. In my experience, if you use a sensitive "early" test (anything that detects 25 mIU/mL of hCG or less) you can test around 12-14 DPO and feel reasonably secure with your results (the later you test, the more secure you can feel in its accuracy.)
If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

I found out I was pregnant at 8 weeks. But there are tests that can tell you in a matter of days before or after your missed period. I only found out that late because I wasn't really paying attention and didn't think it was possible for me to be pregnant at the time.

I was only 3 days late when I did a test and It was positive.

i took a test on Jan 29th. test came back positive. took another one just in case, positive again.
Jan 31st i had my blood test, again positve.
went for my fist check up on Feb. 20th. my doc wanted an ultrasound (due to my last pregnancy having gestational diabetes) to make sure the baby was okay....ultrasound said i was at 7 weeks on Feb 20th.
based on that i became pregnant between Jan 5th and Jan 9th.
my HPT tested correctly at 2 1/2 to 3 weeks pregnant.

I was just barely 4 weeks pregnant when it showed a full out positive on my last pregnancy. Generally, that's the earliest you can tell.

depending on the test 3 1/2 - 4 weeks. after you miss you period is a great time to test.

4 days b4 u'r next expected cycle!!! If your pregnant the HCG Hormone will be detected...

there are home pregnany test out there that cen detect a pregnany as early as 1 week so check the box.
