This has been happening several times a week for many months, what possible causes might there be? Also, frequently vomit just travels up my throat and into my mouth, for no apparent reason. When I get the vomit in my mouth, some also goes in to my nose. I am a non smoker.

Sounds like gastric reflux due to too much acid in your stomach. You may have a hiatus hernia which means that the top sphyncture of your stomach is loose so allows fluid to come back up into your mouth. There is medication for it. Don't eat up to four hours before you go to bed, and go and see your doctor. It's common, don't worry.

If you feel food does not go all the way to your stomach before you cough it up it could be a hiatus hernia. See you GP as there are medications which can help.

What you should do is see a doctor. No one knows these days what could be going around spreading. You should really go get it checked out, that's exactly what I would do. Good luck and hope you feel better!
