do they really think someone on the internet is going to persuade them not to get a tattoo

(rant on) Attention "rm pinkfeet/Lou Cano0$$@" How the hell do you think you know about everyone's upbringing. I spent the greater part of my life in the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, etc. Tattooed people are not mindless sheep looking for a new piece of "graffiti" to put on ourselves. When someone tries to generalize an entire group of people, it is sort of like bigotry. Yes that's right. Are you a bigot? For all we know you could be a real piece of crap yourself. The only difference between tattooed people and un-tattooed people is, we don't care if you have tattoos or not. (rant off)

Ignorance mostly.

Most of these people did not come to tattoos to tell you not to get one. They are hanging out in the home area of answers and answering random questions as they flash across the screen.....They see a tattoo question (and if they hate them) they answer with a DON'T GET ONE and then they move on. Go look at their profiles if you don't believe me. A tattoo answer, religion , outdoors , cooking, cleaning and laundry, finance, movies, celebrities, pets.....etc. These people just answer random questions for points.......... I wonder if they even realize there is a "family" of people living in tattoos....

If they are on the internet asking what they should get a tattoo of they are probably quite easy to persuade.

WOW! Blair. Dude! Nice rant!

In answer to the question: It's because yes, they really do. You have to remember, these people are VERY narrow-minded. Funny how they make a 180 sometimes though..... (my parents HATED the idea of me getting tats - now they love every one of 'em).

To tattoo or not is a personal choice; most of the people posting questions here aren't asking "should I...?", they are asking "what do you think about getting it here?" or "what shall I have?" or "what do you think of my idea?" (as afterbirth did).

The nay-sayers aren't just idiots - they're also ignorant bigots (and a few other things I can think of) who should stick to their own category - 9 times out of 10 (judging by the answers given) that would be religion.

I just asked a question a little while ago, and I was astonished that people were telling me not have a tattoo. All I wanted was advice on placement and the idea of the tattoos itself, not to be force-fed religion down my neck. If I wanted to battle religion I'd visit the R&S section.

i guess if you ask for other ppl's opinions you would get them
it's rude to call ppl who try to help others idiots
it's a good thing that they go out of their way to advise others and the questions are shown in the general subcategory of beauty and style
if you don't want a question answered then don't ask it and maybe ppl on the net would listen to others esp since they ask whether they should do something or not
i would appreciate it if ppl warned me against something that may harm me if they were nice

I know. If your asking about getting a tatto most likely you've allready decided on getting one and you just want someone else to tell you its ok. If your going to be negative and put people down then you shouldnt even waste everyone's time by answering.

Because they have no self esteem and try to make up for it ny telling everyone how to live their lives. And appearently they have nothing better to do in their lives than make ignorant comments on the internet to complete strangers.

It's very annoying. I wish they could grow up and get a life.

No, because we'd imagine that they're smart enough to be able to make their own decisions, but to at least accept the opinions of people posting in response to a question that THEY posted. :)

Well, because they tried going to the smoking category to tell people not to smoke, but there wasn't one. So there they are!
