I grew up there. It's a pretty good area for Scarborough. My car was broken into a couple of times, but that happens everywhere. Scarborough gets a bad rap. It's close to a lot of amenities (shopping and restaurants at Town Centre, and Markville is not too far away), public transit (although the RT is more or less going to die soon) you can take the Finch Express all the way to Finch station, it doesn't take that long, and easy access to the 401. I love Chinese food and some of the best Chinese food restaurants are in the area. Ruby at Woodside is awesome. Perfect Chinese Restaurant is at Brimley and Sheppard and is open 24 hours for those late night cravings. The only drawback I could possibly see (my friends lived at the corner of Middlefield and Finch, right by the Pizza Pizza) is the CN yard right behind. We used to hear them unloading the trains at all hours, even 3 or 4 in the morning. After a while you actually become immune to it and its just background noise. Any other specifics (ie schools, etc.) just ask.
