A pet store like "Happiness is Pets" often get their dogs from puppy mills and that's why they are so cheap.

The puppy's parents live in horrible conditions with matted fur, no medical care and urine soaked cages. That's a way to cut costs.

Great a puppy only cost $295, but what conditions do the parents live in?

If you don't see the parents then you really don't know. Sometimes a pet store will buy through second hand distributers so they can say, "Oh, we don't deal with puppy mills." But the question remains-- where are the parents of the dog?

Pet stores are not trustworthy places to buy a dog.

And I live in Schaumburg, IL so all those locations are very close to me, too!

I breed Siberian Huskies and they are AKC, CKC, APRI registered. You get pedigrees, first shots, guarantee, as well as a free vet check or your choice, just to name a few. If you are looking for a puppy, whatever your choice, make sure you go to someone with a good reputation such as AKC Breeders. They know what they are doing and they take care of their dogs not like puppy mills etc. A little advice....sometimes you get what you pay for so don't look at prices so much look at quality of the dog and health.

NEVER buy a puppy on-line sight unseen. There are tons of scams running where you send the money, but never see the puppy.

Look for a reputable breeder in your area, or look in your local newspaper classified section if you're just looking for a "pet". Better yet, go to your local shelter and adopt a dog that needs a loving home.

Becareful where you purchase a puppy from. Alot of people are just looking to make a quick buck and are not taking care of the dogs. Why not go to your local humane society? That way you know the dogs are cared for, vaccinated and altered. Plus you will get a pet that will be forever greatful to you for providing him with a loving home. Good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for.

I found my puppy at www.puppyfind.com. Make sure you talk to the breeder, get pictures and NEVER have them ship you a dog! Always make sure you are able to go to the breeders house and meet the parents (if possible).

A really good place to go on the internet is puppyfinder.com when you get to the site you put in the breed of dog you are looking for, and they will show you pics of the ones for sale. It is a really good site to go to and it really helps out because you get to see the pictures of them but good luck...

you may want to wait until spring because winter is the hardest to sell puppies so many breeders will wait to breed.

NEVER buy a dog online. It could be the result of a puppymill and be physcologically and physically hurt. AKC.org has breeders, go there.
