CO2 in the air has gone up and down over time...but because of us, it is way higher now than it has ever been before.

Climates are always changing, yes...you have that bit correct.
What is at the key of the current debate is the radical amount of shift that we are seeing right now. Okay, we've not had that long to accumulate data, but what data we have got right now points to a very alarming situation!
There is a great body of evidence that tells us that we - the humans who are in plague proportions - are having a (possibly) irreversible effect on our climate.
This is NOT a part of the earth's natural cycle.
The motor car and the poisons that it belches are NOT natural. Nor is the sheer amount of manufacturing and consumption going on. Nor is the amount of plastic waste which we generate.
The amount of energy which I personally generate trying to convice others is a tiny fraction of what is actually needed to reverse this trend before it's too late for our kids.
The Native American people had a very interesting way of looking at what actions they took in regards to just about everything they did: "What will the people who are seven genertations down the track think of what I am considering?" Looking at what we are doing right now and what the scientists are telling us, I am completely convinced that such future humans (If the get a chance to exist!) won't think very much of our overconsumptive society and our addiction to the motor vehicle.
We have the answers. They are there. What we do not have is the collective will to see the truth of the matter and get out from under this cloud which says that "everything is going to be okay" Greed, delusion and fear are wrecking the planet!!!!
Hope this goes a little way towards helping you to understand the problem!
Love and Light,
Jarrah

Yes, I agree. I do believe that climate change has been going on for MILLIONS of years....There is evidence to suggest that the Poles were not always frozen, deserts were once farm land and temperate. Global warming and climate change are a natural cycle. I am not suggesting that we ignore our current energy usage, or not take care of the environment.... In fact, we've probably enhanced some of the effects, but in reality its not entirely our fault or doing.

No one is denying that climate change happens naturally. We're simply pointing out that this particular change is strongly influenced by humans.
And to all the people who spout off the 'it's a natural cycle' nonsense, try looking at a graph of Earth's climate history, then come back and tell me that.
Here's an excellent little site to edicate yourselves with:

Because it gives the bureaucrats in D.C. a justification to spend the hard earned tax dollar. Look at how many people the government employs for these studies alone. Never do they consider geologic history. Look at the Mesozoic, it was a hot house period, I wonder if the dinosaurs knew they were bringing about their own demise with their expelling of methane gas (especially those big herbivores) or maybe just maybe it had something to do with the positioning of the continents and the atmospheric patterns of the day ( the temperature)
The past is the key to the present

What I get tired of is the dirty air, polluted water and fish not safe to eat, and the natural resources that we are depleting, and the land that the landfills are taking. I do not care if people like you want to ignore the global warming theory, but we could all work towards a cleaner and healthier environment in which to live in.

People deny this because they close their eye's to the truth. Climate chang has and will always be around. Look at global warming it's because we don't take care pf or enviorment.
