The proposal is to allow members of the reserves and national guard who qualify for retirement be allowed to receive their retirement pay 1 year earlier for every 2 years that was spent on active duty.
This will only happen if Congress approves it. (In other words - fat chance.)

Ahh a problem that has been discussed. But the typical national guard doesn't deserve it any earlier. Come on one weekend a month two weeks a year..and you get retirement for that? But i agree with the above completely, time spent on "active duty status", deployed, etc. Should count towards your retirement..They should count the days. If active duty gets their retirement in 20 years. Let the guard retire when they get 20 years worth as well. That way the guard members who work full time, or get deployed alot, get the benefit. And the ones who sit at home, and go in to forge training certificates once a month, don't.

No, the device replaced into no longer designed to have the age decreased. we ought to consistently have been inching it UP over the previous sixty 5 or so years by way of fact the lifespan standard in 1935 replaced into sixty 5 years old for a reason. What we want are greater desirable regulations and incentives to help older workers shift downward with fewer hours as they pass in direction of retirement with out being penalized of their pension plans or SS. that is powerful.

There has been talk for the past couple years. I've actual seen a memorandum stating that time served in combat will
allow you to retire early. Also, check this link.
