does anyone know the procedure for removing/replacing the small speakers out of the front of a 2000 Jeep grand Cheroke? These are approx 3" in diameter located on the dash against the front windshield. I'm not sure if I have to take the glovebox out etc or pop the wire mesh off the speaker and go in from the top.

Don't attempt to pop the mesh. The long, slim panel that runs along the base of the windshield and covers the speakers can be popped out. The mesh is permanently attached to this panel. Remove the panel and you'll find two screws holding each speaker. It's very common for these speakers to be blown.

Pop the wire mesh. There should be 3 or 4 screws holding the speaker down. You will need a short Phillips head screw driver...its kind of cramped that close to the windshield

Most likely you can just pop off the screen, most vehicles are made this way. If theres no way to remove the rest of the dash without removing the speaker then you should pop off the screen, if there is then remove the piece surrounding the speaker.

Before you go to a lot of trouble replacing speakers, check you radio and make sure that is not your problem. If one of the channels are bad in the radio it will sound like a blown speaker.
