Don;t worry - you'll be fine! All first time mums feel this way - I know I did and I had twins!
Check out this website for good lists

I felt that way the first time I was pregnant. Are you having a baby shower? I have noticed from my own experience, that MOST places you can register for baby items have either people in the store that are willing to help, as well as those checklists that you can go off of. Moms are really different when they consider the necessities of raising a baby. Your best bet would be to register for gifts...AND most of the time, your family and friends that have children, will look at your list, and if there is something THEY found useful that you have not included on your list, they will get that.
Make sure you have plenty of clothes and baby blankets....babies tend to go through more clothes in one day than a diva would! The more bottles you can get, the better. This can prevent CONSTANT washing and sterilzing in the begenning. The high chair can wait...being that your infant won't really need it. If you are on a budget, skip the cradle, and get your baby bed. That can save some money. I found the small absorbent lap pads useful. They are cheaper than crib sheets, and I would place one under my babies when they slept. That way, if their diaper would happen to leak, I wouldn't have to change sheets, I would just have to change that little pad. I didn't have to stock up on crib sheets.... There are allot of moms that get changing tables....I really never used mine. There are plenty of things you don't REALLY need for the baby. As long as you love him/her, keep them warm, clean, and fed...they don't care about much else! You will be fine. Your instincts will kick in, and you will be a pro in no time..
You may want to try the Babies R Us site....they should have a checklist of the things you would need.
Good luck on your adventure....trust me...it's and ADVENTURE>

Don't worry, I was scared to death before I had my son. Just be sure you're stocked up on diapers, bottles, formula (unless you breastfeed) and some comfy clothes for baby to lounge in. Other than that, the rest will come. I understand the budgeting part also...

All mum's feel like that I bet! Because you are worrying so much it means you care, which, in my book, means you are going to be a wonderful and caring mother! You don't need advice, it will come naturally!
