Are dogs colorblind?

They have less cones in ther eyes, which means the color they see is dull. The only color scientists specualte they can see is red, which may appear as a dull pink to them. But color isn't important to them, just like an acute sense of smell isn't important to us.

According to some scientists, yes. But there is specualtion that they can see some colors and not others. Do a home experiment, train your dog to react to something of a very distinct color like a red hankherchief. Then trick him one day with a blue one. If he reacts just the same, then maybe he is color blind.

The human eye has more cones, and more kinds of cones, than a dog's eye does. So we can perceive more colors than a dog can. But dogs' eyes outdo ours when it comes to rods. Rods are cells that help dogs (and us) see in dim light. Dogs may not see color very well, but they can see in the dark much better than we can.

simplist answer is yeah dogs only see black and white so it must be pretty boring for them!! same as bulls and other animals thats why the saying rad flag to a bull is wrong as they wouldnt see the red only a darker shade of grey

No they just can't see some colors, but for some reason they see the color yellow very very well
