I will be getting a JAA PPL and I was wondering what the requisites are to fly a couple of flights in the USA.

I belive you must pass a simle test here in America, just to show proficiency in both written and spoken english as well as a brief checkride...

The rules on this changed after 9/11. You used to be able to get an FAA licence based on your JAA one by just filling in a form. Now you need to go to an FAA office (FSDO) in person, or meet an FAA representative and should send the form in advance. See link below for details. It sounds like a lot, but is actually very easy. You should check with your JAA or EASA office, or if you know where in the US you will be you could contact the FAA office in that area. Here is a link to search for the local FAA offices.
