Everyone that you received money from last year should have sent you some sort of statement. For example, any employers sent you a W2. Banks will send you a 1099-INT for any interest on savings accounts.

Taxfreedom.com is a free site that walks you through paying taxes. It's very easy. Just be careful and make sure you fill everything out correctly. Don't mistype your name or social security number.

If all of your income was on W-2's or maybe you also had a 1099-INT for interest, you can use a 1040EZ. That's really easy (hence EZ) and you should be able to do it yourself. You can download a copy at irs.gov or pick one up at most post offices or public libraries.

Depending on where you live, you might have to file a state and/or local return also.

You can find all kinds of programs that help you through your taxes, but if you are not sure, do not hesitate to go to a place like H & R Block if possible. They charge a fee, but it is worth it if you get a refund.By having them do your taxes, they are the ones that are responsible if you get audited. Taxes are very important to get right, otherwise you could be in a heap of trouble, especially if this is your first time. At least find someone who knows about taxes to help you.

Assuming you can file an EZ form, pick one up at the Post Office. The instructions are easy to follow.

It is easy and you can learn to do it yourself and save paying someone to fill out a simple form.
