At first it was a few whelps on his stomach but then he laid down for a nap and when he got back up he was covered in them. They are all over his stomach, eyes, mouth, upper part of his legs and back.

They are called HIVES. Call his doctor immediately. It's an allergic reaction to something.

This is a medical emergency....This is called hives and can be life threatening...Call the child's Dr or take to the nearest emergency room immediately.....

If you are not in a wintery area he may have touched poison ivy and then ended up with that itchy oil from it smeared all over him.

it's prolly chicken pox. and it's airborn and very contagious. oddly enough some ppl, like myself, r immune, but most will get them if around them.
