There are three hallways..two halls meet and become one, well, I came out of gym and saw my ex boyfriend coming from the opposite direction and he said hi, how are you to me and I said good you..than the hallways met and so did we, well, he started walking so fast, almost running away from me.. I can tell he was a little nervous and maybe sensed that I wanted to talk to him. Why would he do that?

We just started talking after the break up 2 years ago. I first initiated the communication and than he would ignore when I would say hi so I stopped and 2 months after I stopped saying hi he started saying hi..

Could be he didn't want to delve back into talking about 'things', and that he didn't want you to know what's going on with him, and likewise, he wasn't ready to know what is going on with you. If there's been a messy or painful breakup, or worse - just a relationship that loses steam - I know it's easier for ME if I don't see the person anymore. When there's an unexpected meeting - you see them at a party, or just on the street - I just want to say, "Hi" and keep going. As for the saying "hi" part... maybe he finally felt comfortable enough seeing you to say hi again - or, he thought he should acknowledge your presence, at least...

Let's face it, most conversations with exes are uncomfortable.

He is most likely letting you know he still wants the two of you to be in the Hi-Bye stage.

It means he is OK with being cordial, but he doesn't want any more than that. Say 'Hello' and be done with it. Don't expect a conversation. He could have blown you off, but he just chose not to be a total @$$. You should be happy with that.

He probably feels awkward. Things normally never go back to the way they were after people break up.

It sounds like the situation is a little uncomfortable for him. The details on "why", I am not sure.

He is afraid to get too involved again. He is afraid to be friendly in case you think he wants to get back together. Be honest, help him out.

Perhaps he's scared you might want to get back together and he was literally running away from you.

He's afraid if he is too chatty that you'll become all weird stalk him or linger about and ruin his potential love interests.
