I know the chords and the minor scales. What should I learn next?

you know you can really play the guitar when people's jaws drop open. And I don't mean your mom or girlfriend. I mean strangers, preferably musicians.

Others have given you the correct next step(s): Start learning some pieces in the style(s) you will like to learn and keep improving, moving on to more difficult material.

Good luck.

congrats on learning the chords and scales.

now, you must arrange them in an order so that you can reproduce or create music.

also, the style of strumming or finger picking determines what type of music you are playing.

one of the first songs I learned to play had two chords.

The best thing you can do is start looking at books with tablature in them so that you can learn to coordinate your chords with the notes in the melody line.

record yourself on a cassette player to see how you are getting along.

invite another person to come and listen to you.
