Have a goal.
The only way that a LD relationship will work is if there is a light at the end of the tunnel. A meeting point where you or they (or both of you) are going to move to be together. If neither is willing to do so then the relationship is doomed.
Use the 'net, but occasionally send something "Snail-Mail." Spray it with your signature scent so they can enjoy it :-)
Have a good long-distance plan. My BF and I have Cingular Nationwide with Mobile2Mobile. Our calls would have put us in the poorhouse without it!!!
Be HONEST. They are the person you can go to and tell anything. If they aren't...you can forget it.

It could work at first, but in the long run relationships like that don't work. Unless you are willing to forgive the cheating, because sooner or later one of you will do it.
