well i have a poodle and she just recently had that a couple days ago. ive never experienced her doing that before so when i noticed that she started to get the hiccups i just patted her back like you would do a baby to burp them and within a couple of minutes it went away. also the times when she got it she wasn't eating or just finish eating...it just happened out of nowhere. but i think that if your pup does it more then usual maybe you should call the vet and just ask them what it is that would be causing that to happen and how would you be able to take it away.

My 2 dogs (Chihuahua and small terrier mix)both get hiccups occasionally. When I asked their vet about this, she told me those hiccups are "reverse sneezes" possibly due to allergies. She prescribed an "over-the-counter" antihistamine, which I won't name, simply because each dog and its symptoms are different -- which means that you should consult your vet for an individual assessment to be safe. I answered this question solely to put your mind to rest since I don't think it's a major problem to excessively worry about but, again check with your own vet. Gesundheit !!!!

yes it is normal....especially when the dog eats too fast....but a way to help prevent the hiccups and especially gas is to get one of the off the floor food and water bowls so they dont have to bend over to eat..helps in digestion. Hope this helps some

Hiccups are completely standard. My canines often gets them while he lies someplace the place the floor is chilly...or while taking part in outdoors. So wrap her up in a blankie and save her heat, and rub her abdomen. If the hiccups are persistent and look standard call your vet and ask.yet i doubt this is something very undesirable. nonetheless call and ask.

Yeah, my dog gets them like 10 times a dog. Someone told me to enjoy his cute hiccup habit because most dogs grow out of it.

Mine gets them all the time. I have to laugh and feel sorry for her at the same time as she weighs 150 lbs, hiccups are not a pretty thing for her.

yep dogs can get hiccups just like people. just make sure that excessive drooling or vomiting doesn't occur. could be a sign of illness or reaction. but the hiccups are fine =)
