Unfortunately we are judged by the worst of the lot. But, that's fine. All I can do is be the best example I can be. Hopefully, someone will see me and hopefully see the love of Christ in me. I am in no way perfect and never will be. But I also know that with Him, all things are possible. He gives me new mercies every day and can wash away my blemishes. I have to try to live Christianity in my home, on my job, with my friends, on the street and in my church. We are called to love Christ and give our lives over to Him. That's a tall glass to fill. Part of that clearly involves ridicule, misunderstanding and sometimes hatred from others. It's just the lot we chose as Christians.

A follower of Christ (as the name intends) walks in the path that Christ leads, a Christian therefore is all actions and little words, most of the people in the World who claim to be Christian can not be found to be as such in any sense of the term. Why should one expect most "Christians" on Answers to be any different?
This doesn't just apply to Christianity, it applies to all religions (except apparently Jedi [yes I mean the actual Jedi Churches] crazy huh?) We live in a decaying and a dying world. Most people can't even hold theselves to their own standards, so they play off their insecurities on others, and this includes their insecurities in their own religion.

It is not profitable to dwell on any weakness in mankind except in the degree needed for a kind and gentle remedy.
Christ's own standard of what spoke of who were His followers was "I give you a new commandment, love one another, as I have loved you. This is how the world will know you are my disciples." -Jesus
Many are striving for this, and are unaware of it, so please also avoid saddening them, or making them doubt. No-one should be said not to be Christian, for only God knows who is being called while we look on and wonder... The exception is that God tests each to prove them out, so that all may come in truth, and not imitations and dogma, and likewise certainly, hate must not be allowed to ascend to dominate love.
"A student of the modern methods of the higher criticism asked 'Abdu'l-Bahá if he would do well to continue in the church with which he had been associated all his life, and whose language was full of meaning to him. 'Abdu'l-Bahá answered: "You must not dissociate yourself from it. Know this; the Kingdom of God is not in any Society; some seekers go through many Societies as a traveller goes through many cities till he reach his destination. If you belong to a Society already do not forsake your brothers. You can be a Bahá'í-Christian, a Bahá'í-Freemason, a Bahá'í-Jew, a Bahá'í-Muhammadan. The number nine contains eight, and seven, and all the other numbers, and does not deny any of them. Do not distress or deny anyone by saying 'He is not a Bahá'í!' He will be known by his deeds. There are no secrets among Bahá'ís; a Bahá'í does not hide anything."
Spreading the Teaching
When asked by an American friend: "Which is the best way to spread the teaching?" he said: "By deeds. This way is open to all, and deeds are understood by all. Join yourselves to those who work for the poor, the weak and the unfortunate; this is greatly to be commended. To teach by words requires the skill of a wise physician. He does not offer help to those who do not want treatment. Do not press help on those who do not need your help. The work of teaching is not for all.""
(Abdu'l-Baha, Abdu'l-Baha in London, p. 97)

People like to speak out of ignorance most of the time. Im not a Christian and I hold nothing against you for your beliefs. As a matter of fact I support you and give you credit for staying true to what you believe in. I believe that everyone has the right to believe in whatever it is that they want to (or not believe in anything at all) if it helps make them a better person. Religion is always going to be a touchy topic and there are always going to be people who do/say things that are negative when these coments are posted. Stay true to yourself hun, your beliefs are between you and god. He will sort out all of the bad seeds when the time comes.

My dad is a minister, I spent loads of time in the church, and I know that not all Christians are hateful.
However, the timid Christians provide cover for the hateful ones. Where are the Christians negotiating with Fred Phelps church to stop him from protesting the funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq? Where are the Christians who try to stop bigotry against gay people or put the same kind of vigor into promoting the separation of church and state.
In the early days of the AIDS crisis, the motto "SILENCE=DEATH" was widely circulated, because silence about the virus meant it spread. Liberal or non-judgmental Christians through their silence allow the hate-mongering Christians to capture the headlines and define the agenda, and with it, define Christianity.

the distinction is that this is clean that all of us those Greek gods have been *autonomous* beings. The Triune God of the Bible isn't. he's one god (form of being) in 3 persons (distinctive centres of understanding)---Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. you're perplexing tritheism with trinity. Why is such incredibly contrived language needed? by way of fact the NT writers for sure held to Jewish monotheism of their ancestors, yet Jesus replaced into in a roundabout way secure as an merchandise of worship of their non secular devotion to the only real God (the Holy Spirit held the situation of God interior the learning of the NT church besides (see Acts), demonstrating his character). The Trinity replaced into the systematic answer to the realities of the hot testomony and the non secular practice of the early Christians. Why in the worldwide could the subsequent church advance such complicated and contrived language to systematically describe the character of their God in the event that they have been tritheistic? Polythiesm is easy to understand; the Trinity isn't. there is not any precedent for the Trinity in pagan religions, and on a similar time as the OT is consistent with the Trinity (incredibly the early factors of Genesis), the would not demonstrate it overtly. the only answer is that the hot testomony truly does supply greater effective perception into the character of God than the OT, and that the Trinity is the only systematic description of God's nature this is consistent with its witness.

Unfortunately, it seems like there are a lot more people who call themselves Christians than people who actually practice what Christ taught. Read Matthew 23, if Jesus gave that tongue lashing to the religious leaders of his day, just imagine what he would have to say to the Christian leaders of today. It wouldn't be pretty.
