Try "Bitter Apple". It's a spray to train dogs from biting things. It tastes horrible. If it works for dogs, I'm sure it'll work for you.

Here's How:
1. Decide that you are going to stop. Pick a day and say that's it. No more nibbling. Now here are a few little ways to help.
2. There are some bitter tasting liquids that can painted onto the nails. I don't know anyone who actually liked the taste, so this is going to slow you down and give your nails a little time to start growing.
3. The minute you wash your hands, re-apply the liquid mentioned above. This will also focus attention on your hands and the nails which should be visible by now.
4. Keep an emery board in every room and one in your backpack or purse. The minute you notice a snag, use the emery board and not your teeth.
5. Buy a few bottles of pretty polish and some hand cream. You are going to keep your nails polished and your hands soft. In a weeks time, you are going to notice a difference.
6. Once a biter, always a biter. I have stopped, but it only takes a snag for me to revert back to old habits. I have to follow these tips too.
7. You might have been looking for a magical way to stop biting your nails, but I'm afraid that there is no such thing. You simply have to put your mind to it and stop!
8. Will power is an amazing thing. If you want something badly enough, you can do it. If you want pretty nails, you are the only person who can stop it from happening.

biting your nails is not jsut a habit, but a nervous habit. You definitely need to let the stress out on something else than biting your nails. usually when biting nails you have way too much energy left and you are not as active as you should and maybe even want to be... so see if you need to work, play or sport more instead of less when you think it is stress that keeps you biting... Good Luck!!!! It worked for me... work harder...

Its not easy. I was able to stop by putting band aids over my fingernails so when I went to bite I chomped down on a nasty band aid. It took about a week or two to stop but it finally worked.
Just committ to it and you'll do fine.

I started carrying finger nail clippers in my pocket.Every time I would start to bite my finger nails I would get out the clippers and clip them down. It took about 1 month to stop biting them all together, and I haven't bitten them in over 10 years. I still carry nail clippers with me, it keeps me from biting the occasional hang nail.

You do not put them in your mouth anymore. I'm not trying to be funny, but I had a terrible habit as a kid of biting mine and nothing worked until when I was 20 years old I just looked at them and how awful they looked. I realized it was one of the things I had power to change in my life in an easy way. So, I just stopped.

whenever I was trying to quit, I just didnt think about biting and i just eventually stopped. Also you can just try sitting on your hands whenever you are sitting down. Or do something useful, like reading a book or cleaning house or something to get your mind off of biting your nails.

I was cured of this by putting a stinky clear nailpolish. I also kept them clipped low, so there is really no nail to bite. In the beginning I wore mittens, too. Good luck...its a nasty habit and now my nails are damaged irreparably.

It is proven fact that if you do something consistently for 16 straight days you will keep that habit. So for 16 straight days put pepper on your finger nails so you wont bite them. Or go get fake acrylic nails and as time passes they will grow beneath the fake nail. I need to do this too because my nails are hella short!
