Hi,
I am pregnant, hoping to give birth new baby in next 2 months. I know that the new born baby will be citizen of USA. My Husband is in F1 visa and I am on dependent visa (F2). After I give birth my baby, what will be our status? Will the parents get permanent resident kind of thing? and work permit in USA?
reply is appreciated.

Thanks

Your status will not change after you have your baby. You will still be a citizen of your original country.

Only your child will be a USA citizen, and that does not mean you or your husband can stay in this country. Your child can, but when your visa expires, expect to be deported. Realize the hardship on this child, if born an American, but then has to go to another country to live because the parents were not Americans. No, your child cannot help you.

Your baby's US citizenship will not affect your status. You will not receive permanent residency or be allowed to stay just because your child is a US citizen.

The child will be a US citizen and the parents will remain in their status. Only when the child is old enough he/she can petition for the parents to live and work in the USA. If you fail to maintain your status you will be one more illegal alien and will be deported with you child ( it doesn't matter if the child is a citizen).

No you will not be a citizen of this country just because you have a child, why don't you do things the right way and fill out the proper paperwork to be a citizen?

Once your child turns 21 he/she may petition for you and your husband to become Lawful Permanent Resident. At this moment your child's birth will not change your status. Once you husband is done with school have him find an employer willing to sponsor him and yourself. Good look.

You will still be students. When the child turns 21 he/she can petition for you to have permanent residency.

Do you have anything better to offer the USA than another anchor baby? It won't help you. We have Mayor Lou Barletta's back, and soon no illegal will be able to find a place to lay their head. GOOD.

having a us born child is not guarantee. as we speak raids are happening and parents are being deported. the kids can be left in the usa. what it does mean that in the future your child can then sponsor you two to live in the usa. go to immg site www.uscis.gov or www.usa.gov to learn more.
