Honestly, some people say that all Muslims support terrorism or are terrorists.

So how many Muslims do you know PERSONALLY support terrorism?

I'm a Muslim, I don't support it, what about me and my relatives and friends (who don't support it either).

What about the innocents in Iraq that are being killed by idiotic cowards that choose to target women and children with gas bombs and other suicidal bombings?

Not all Iraqies are Muslims - Those who commit suicidal bombings in Iraq aren't all Muslims.

What about the many other terrorists are aren't Muslims?

Sure, there are many Muslim radicals, who I believe are idiots and who should rot.

So what we have different beliefs, show me actual proof, from the Qua'ran, not some website, that the Qua'ran supports terrorism.

The Jihad does not influence terrorism, the Jihad was based on war - How to defend youself in war and so on so forth. So if you take any Surah (passage) from the Jihad then your obviously desperate.

So you have rejected parts of the Koran that are unacceptable in a modern and civilized society. Good for you. You have my blessing.

I have a number of friends who are Muslim and have never yet met a Muslim who even supported the idea that terrorism is an acceptable act.

Unfortunately the media is feeding a growing paranoia which a minority are distorting to their own ends, both towards glorifying and demonizing.

If you look hard enough at any large society you will find elements of insurrection either politically or religiously based, however in between these elements is at least 99.9% of the population. The one thing that all terrorists / extremists lack is tolerance and the ability to listen with an open mind.

We will always have some element made out to be 'the bad guy' in society as it saves us from having to look at our own behavior and attitudes.

No I am not a Muslim or a pacifist. I'd just like to read something newsworthy in the morning paper.

Society today projects Muslims as terrorists. I, personally, think that that idea is an abomination and a very bad representation of what humankind is supposed to represent.
I believe that all cultures and religions should be able to comingle in peace with no clash of ideas that are taken action upon. Although many societies have different views, I believe that these should not get in the way of our ability to tolerate other human beings.

It's true, many, many terrorists aren't Muslim. I blame the stereotype of Muslims being terrorists on none other than George W. Bush himself. Without the 9/11 "scandal", these false accusations would not be as widely known and used today.

It is also true that the good Muslims outweigh the bad, which is also misrepresented. I believe that the Muslim religion has been seriously abused by the media and press lately, and that this is completely unfair to Muslim people.

I hope, for the better of all humankind, that this horrible thought will vanish from the minds of every single human being on this earth.

In a logical equation saying ALL Muslims support terrorism would be completely illogical.

MOST Americans know that.

I think one problem is the fact that the news media does not report that moderate Muslims do not support terrorism, therefore that side of the story is never told. SOME feel silence is acceptance of attacks being done on US & allies. That is why I believe moderate Muslims need to be more vocal when attacks happen.

What Americans saw was joy and glee in the Muslim world when we were attacked. No condemnation.

Hope that helps to explain a little.

The vast majority of people, including me will agree with you that Muslims are not equal to terrorists nor support it. On the other hand, I think a lot of people feel at least a bit insecure or uneasy when they come in contact with Islam.
You should show somehow to the majority in the West that you are not as you are being portrayed.
However I would avoid proclaiming constantly that Islam is the religion of peace for to my knowledge there are no religions of war in this world.
Peace.

The problem is that many non-violent Muslims, which as you say are many-probably in the millions, don't take a stand against this mutant sect. Right now it is a fact that 'The Muslim Brotherhood, The Project' is an operation to infiltrate US and take-over. There are 1200 terrorist groups in 150 cities w/weapons. The FBI knows this but what is it saying about Homeland Security--that it is a big joke. The US allows mosques but what they don't realize is many are meeting places for terrorist groups. This whole violent and obsesses movement sould be top of the list concern for 'infidels' as well as 'peaceful Muslims'.

I can't believe that people think that all Muslims are terrorists.
It's insane really to think that.
I would like to add in my 2 cents.
America has a terrorist government. America as a country have suppressed human rights by supporting/committing killings done in countries and actually undermining countries that wanted to become democratic. Did you know that the CIA is a terrorist operation?
Throughout history, which countries have committed the most heinous acts.?The countries in Europe and America, their offspring. Let's think of Native Americans. We almost exterminated a whole race! Now they are reduced to living on plots of land and being displayed in a museum as if they don't exist anymore.
I suggest we all take the time to look at our government. What you will find will make you realize why many people despise us.

We tend to like to stereotype people. A lot.

For instance, all Jews are thrifty, all French people refuse to bathe, Europeans refuse to shave, Americans are fat, lazy, arrogant, and retarded, and Asians are like, the smartest people in the whole frickin' world!

These stereotypes are not all necessarily true, but I'm sure that they do apply to some people, just like the stereotype that all Muslims are terrorists who support terrorism and therefore shouldn't be trusted. It isn't necessarily true, but ever since 9/11, Americans have been very critical of all of those who are from the general region of our attackers (i.e. of Middle-Eastern descent or of Muslim religion).

It's just like the Red Scare of the early to mid 20th century. It'll pass if you give it time.

Muslim extremism is a relatively new movement that has taken hold in poor impoverish areas in the middle east. Its about as representative of the Muslim Faith as the KKK is representative of protestants around the world.

The Jihad is about as real as the concept of the "South Rising Again".

I understand what you're saying. However, I believe anyone who is strongly against something such as this should be actively engaged in protests. Yet, it's quite rare that we see Muslims staging huge demonstrations against radical Islam. Why is that?

There is an old saying: silence gives the appearance of agreement.
