Short answer: No.

Long answer: No, not directly, but the SSN may help you somewhat.

Your question doesn't make clear the time-frame you're dealing with, what exactly you're looking for, or whether this person is deceased. If the latter, you can search the SSDI - the social security death index, at http://ssdi.rootsweb.com/ This will give you the birth and death dates of the person, place of last residence, and place the card was issued (for older numbers, this would generally be the state they first starting working in). While this information isn't tons, it should be enough to allow you to start following the person more, getting birth, death and marriage records, checking censuses, etc.

If the person is alive then I question why you have their SSN. You can use locator services, such as http://www.accurint.com/ to find someone, but there is a cost and potential privacy issues, so tread carefully.

A SSN is not particularity useful for genealogy purposes, but it can help. You'd be better off using standard tried-and-true methods, however.

You can.

Go to your local Social Security Office. They will have the name of the mother and father of that person. Then you will be able to access the mother and father of the father and the mother and so on.........
Their are guide lines you have to go by.

Or you can go on line at genealogy.com
its free for a short time but then its only about 15.00 monthly.
