Mormonism gets criticized a lot, just as Scientology does. People
thinks it's weird that Mormons believe that their undergarments give
them special protection, that the Garden of Eden was located near
modern-day Kansas City, and that God lives in outer space near a
"celestial body" called Kolob. But that's not all that Mormons, or
members of the LDS Church, believe. For clarification, see:

I laugh at these comments below. Anyone who calls the Mormon church a cult is probably twice as blinded as the ones they claim are blind. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lords true church on the earth. All the Bible lovers cant even agree on what the Bible says. The Book of Mormon clarifies the doctrines of the Bible. I have read it, page by page, and testify that it surely does bring a man closer to Christ than any other book. I was the most vilest of sinners, and was brought to my knees by this marvelous book. My every desire is to do good, and if that makes me part of a cult.. then I guess Im a cult member. Perhaps you should study for yourself instead of listening to your pastor...

Mormons are a race of people that are genetically more horny than all otherz. Two wild mormons will meet up in the woods late at night and produce a screeching sound that is often mistaken for owls. They then procede to **** each other with maximum penetration pumping and plunging their appendages into every opening in the body. Even the ear. It s called ear-*******, mormon style. Then they make their shelter for the night under exactly 69 leaves and then they wake up the next morning just in time to sell you their religion.

We Believe?
Do all of the Mormons have to believe the exact same thing???
I have read the Baptists Articles OF Faith and they differ greatly.
Do the many break off groups have the Same Articles
of faith? This question is for the RLDS (there name has now been changed) and for the many Polygamist groups.

mormons follow the teachings of a 19th century American man named Joseph Smith. He teaches that there are different levels to heaven and only Mormon people will be admitted to the highest level. He wrote the "Book of Mormon" which he transcribed from a document printed on golden leaves that only he could see when he held them inside a magic hat. Funny how somwhow these golden pages have disappeared. Form your own opinions but as for me (after actually being a mormon for 5-6 years, it's all B.S.)

Mormons believe that God was once a man on another world and progressed to become God of this world. They also believe that good Mormons can become Gods of their own worlds. They practice rituals in their various temples across the world in order to learn what they need to do to become Gods. Some of the rituals include learning secret hand shakes & names.
Very strange religion.

The word "Mormon" is just a nickname for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. (Also a few radical fringe groups will say they are Mormon too).
Anyway, I am a member of that church, and this a link to the official church website for a page that gives a run down of our basic beliefs. Explore it as you like.

Mormonism was founded by a guy named Joseph Smith.
When Joseph Smith was asked about the basic beliefs of the church, he summarized the teachings and doctrines in 13 points, known today as the The Articles of Faith of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Articles of Faith are:
1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
This website will tell you more modern beliefs.
