What religion are you...does your religion have a History?
Before we condemn another's religion we should first clean our backyard.
The early church survived only because of the Catholics. Besides all the wars, scandals, corruption and confusion in the Middle ages; the Catholic Church have survived. If the Catholic Church had fallen during those turbulent years, one wonders whether anyone in this world would be enjoying religious freedom. Think about it!

For the Muslims here who find this question a good outlet to Criticize Christianity; there would have been no wars if Muslim politicians did not invade and conquer neighboring christian lands.
The bloody Christian crusades, although very bloody, saved both true Christianity and True Islam; without that confrontation, all Europe today, Asia and even the western world would be ruled by Muslim fanatics where both Christians and true Muslims would be suppressed.

It would be nice if folks here would think a little before they open their big mouths spewing ignorance. Take a little time off and study the true history of Islam and Christianity; if you do, you will discover that on both sides, religion was not the problem; the real culprit was natural human greed and politicians who used religion to promote their evil desires and system.

It's certainly interesting. More interesting today to see so many trying to distance themselves from the dark image Christianity's history has while still maintaining many of the old Church's superstitions about people who are not Christian. They try to use the same tactics in word, if not in deed, yet try maintain this "Those weren't TRUE Christians, but I am". Which, of course, doesn't work... too many of us Non-Christians know the history of that religion better than most of it's followers do. Which is a shame... they might actually have a chance to get a decent word in if they would own up to it's history and Prove they don't follow that same path. *Sigh* I guess I ask for the impossible.

you left out the crusades. Unbelievers are always bringing up the crusades & the inquisition on this site. I wasn't born then & neither were they, but evidently they can't think of anything else to hold against us. I am not catholic myself but people from other religions & unbelievers think it's all the same, whether catholic or Christian.

i must agree 100% with Jared G. because what you get from Christians is that pastor, preacher, or whatever opinion and version of what the bible is supposedly trying to say. i personally think Christianity is BS so I'm a Wiccan. nice Q though. ~*~Blessed Be~*~

I, for one, am sickened by it. What bothers me most is that so many Christians don't even know their own history and have the nerve to yell at muslims for their violence. You forgot the Crusades, the Burning Times and many ther atrocities committed by Prostestants too.

pope is catholic and catholic only.
prayer to dead saitns is catholic as well.

catholicism is corrupt version of christianity. they implement much much more man-made doctrines. and pull very little from the bible.
