My friend moved from Florida to Virginia and his premium went down $120.00

Why is insurance so much more expensive in some zip codes than others?

car insurance rates are based on risk. certain areas have higher risk rates for accidents, theft, vandalism, acts of nature, etc... any area that the insurance carrier has paid numerous claims to will have a higher risk rate. for instance, city rates are higher than suburban rates. In Florida, the combined senior citizens' and college students' driving records push the rates higher, as both groups have high accident rates.

The risk is higher in some zips codes based on stats (how likely is it stolen, how many accidents occur, driver's habits) but also insurance regulations vary between states too.

First it depends on the crime rate in the area - number of thefts, car-jackings, etc. Second it depends on the accident statistics of the area. For instance, I lived in the Detroit area and my car insurance was high but when I moved to northern Michigan, it went down $150.

I dont be attentive to why whether it type of feels to be high priced to insure a corsa. pass to a broking provider, or discover on line, the coverage communities to work out if there's a motor vehicle you like in a decrease coverage team. it particularly is going to alter plenty once you're 25. I dont be attentive to ways little ones can arise with the money for to force or get someplace to stay theses days, it is so unfair in this technology.

Many factors: population, incident of claim activity in a given region/zip code, DOI regulations, whether credit is used as a factor.

all about the area and the crime. i lived in eastpoint michigan(right outside detroit), my 6 month premiun was 1200.00, moved temporarly to florida( st.petes), insurance quote was 850.00, same coverage. back up in michigan in Troy, my new 6 month premium is 965.00. it all has to do with the area.
in eastpointe if you bought a new dodge ram, it was gone within the first week.

It depends on several factors. Population density, accident averages, crime rates....they use those factors to predict the possibility of a pay out. If there is a greater chance of a pay out, then they charge more. This way, they cover their bases.
