he may be embaressed to tell you he hasn't had any in 6 yrs. so he made up the in between girls.

That equals either a guy who just hasn't found the kind of girl he's looking for to settle down with, or a guy who was hurt in a relationship & hasn't been ready to move on for six years. Make sure you know what you're wanting right now, then ask him what he's looking for right now. If you're both on the same page, then go for it! If you open up the communication lines first, and are able to talk about things like that, it's a good sign that you may be what he was looking for!

It would mean to me that he hasn't been in a serious relationship for 6 years and has only been playing the field, shopping around, etc. He hasn't met anyone that he wants to get serious about, yet.

if he's like me, maybe he just dosen't choose to have someone there telling him what to do all the time. I choose to remain single for this very reason. It does suck sometimes because there isn't someone around you to be close and imtimate with (you can still get freaky with strangers though). Plus, some of us would like more than just quickies and one-night-stands. But I look for someone who I know I like and get along with...and a sexy body to lick all over. But they are never the same women.

He's saying it's all about SEX and he is far from ready to settle down with anybody. He wants to be friends with benefits and you're better than that. So, be a friend and nothing else. That way you still keep your dignity and respect. If he likes you or wants something more it will happen.
