your going to have to go to the department where the officer who was doing the report works and inquire about the process to get a copy of a report. if your the defendant your lawyer will get a copy of the report.

All police reports are available under the freedom of information act. They will charge you for making the copies but it will be a nominal fee. At the department where I worked it was

5 pages or less = free
each additional page = $1

That was Arizona. Each department is different.

~Of course that isn't free or readily available information to anyone. Anyone else can have their records checked on in the records department at the courthouse, but NOT a Police Officer.. Whoa!
That's confidential, buried, thrown away the key type of information since they can never be wrong.

Yahoo needs to make an FAQ sticky for questions like this.

You can't. You have to contact the department directly and pay the processing fees to get a copy, and you can only get it then if you are an vested party in whatever the incident was.

Police reports aren't free and aren't online. They fall under FOI and can only be released under certain circumstances.
