Ahhh a question after my own heart! I have naturally curly, poofy, dry hair too and here is what I do:

1) First off... I only use shampoo every three days. If I use it more than that it makes my hair even more dry. Everytime I wet my hair I use conditioner. Everytime.
2) When I do shampoo my hair I use Redken Smooth Down Shampoo and Conditioner. It is a little expensive, and you can only get it at salons or online shops, but it is definately worth it!
3) Before I straighten my hair I use a light leave-in conditioner. Make sure that it's light, and that you dont use too much or it can make your hair feel gummy.
4) I dry my hair with a blow dryer before I straighten. It gives me that fabulous poofy 80's hair look.
5) Next important step to keep your straight hair shiny and frizz free: use a hair serum. I have used frizz ease before, but like the shampoo I like the redken smooth down heat glide. This stuff locks in the moisture so the heat from your iron wont ruin it.
6) Make sure your straightener is ceramic! They tend to get hotter, but they dont fry your hair.
7) Start with the bottom sections, going from root to tip, use a comb to make sure you get all leftover frizzies and flyaways.
8) Since my hair is so dry I leave it straight for 3 days max and it looks fine. I do braid it when I sleep, and then just fix any kinks with the straightener in the morning. I also put my hair up when I shower, and if any parts get wet, I let them dry then spot straighten any curlies.

Having straight hair is great, but having curly is too.... learn to embrace it!

Hope this helps!

Right okay, I don't have curly hair, but I know how to eliminate the frizz :D

Use a moisturising shampoo, I know that many people use Aussie.

Follow this with Boots Coconut and Almond Oil Deep Conditioner (or another deep conditioner of your choice, I personally prefer the Coconut one best though), and leave on for five minutes. Use a wide-tooth comb to detangle your hair. Rinse well with lukewarm water.

If you plan to leave your hair to dry naturally, then use Boots Coconut and Almond Oil Leave-In Conditioner, concentrating on the ends and your main problem areas. Frizz Ease also do a 'Wind-down Relaxing Creme' to straighten curly or wavy hair. I have never used this, but I use their curl enhancer and this works well. They also make a Hair Serum which you put on before the straightening stuff. The serum stops frizz.

If you want to straighten, then spritz some Toni & Guy Iron-It Heat Defence Spray over your hair. This really does protect your hair and will leave it very shiny.

Finish off your style with Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Cream (Frizz Ease). You only need a small amount for a really nice finish.

Keep using the deep conditioner every two weeks and your hair will be so soft and shiny!

wash your hair with Garnier Fructis or Herbal Essance Dangerously Straight. Then put it in a bun or a braid till the next day it will be frizzless. But if you want to do it right away let it air dry then use Tresseme heat protector. Then with your flat iron straighten your hair layer by layer. The smaller sections you have the more correctly and frizzless your hair will come out. Then wrap your hair up for the next day and the next day just straighten the bad spots.

Slow down there Kimosabi! First off, let your hair get some moisture in it pronto-tonto! Next, on a light to medium setting, use a hair straightening iron along with some Garnier (maybe Fructis, I can't remember sorry!) hair straightening shampoo at night. Once your hair is dry and straightened, braid it! In the morning, unbraid, brush and voila'! Ready to go hair! And straight too!

Try straightening your hair with those systems that keep the hair straight for months ... like the Yuko System
