I bought a pic 'n' mix yesterday (clearly a mad moment ... or hungry and in the wrong place ... or something)
... and within seconds I was thinking to myself: what is it with this stuff ... why do we buy it ... it's complete tat ... stale peanuts coated in fake chocolate ... I could do a quality version of this for a quarter of the price ... and still make a profit
Grrrrr!
Bring back good ole fashioned 10p mixes

in school a wagon wheel was a penny and mars bar was half a penny kojak type lollies where 4 a penny so where black jacks and fizzers shaped like flying saucers, school dinner was thrupence a week and some times i would spend my thrupence on sweets, and not have school meals,
the steam train from bodfari to denbigh was free to school kids, and a kiss from June williams also would of been free i had a big crush on her but never had a kiss, happy days

Ha Ha , so true. I remember when I was little been given 50 cents for pocket money and going down to our local dairy for a 50 cent mixture. The sweets used to fill the bag. Now, when my daughter comes home with a 50cent mixture she is lucky if the sweets fill even half a bag.

I remember going to the store with a nickel or a dime for candy. I remember paying 5 cents for a bottle of Coca Cola. Not any more!

Inflation, money loses it's value, and is easier to come by, as wages go up, so do the prices.
People get more on benefit now, than was a good wage years ago.
