From a Christian perspective, yes.

Since every human life is precious and has intrinsic value, killing a human damages God's creation. Will it have an eternal consequence? I think so. The memory of that act will live on with the killer. They will have to answer for that crime, in this life of the next. If the killer is a Christian, that is one more wound Jesus suffers, one more crime He pays the penalty for.
