I think that believing in astrology to some degree for atheists would be like believing in god to some degree, it doesn't work that way! Astrology is a fun way to pass the time but I don't take it any more seriously than I do the bible.

Actually there is more proof for astrology than there is for religion. Some atheists are spiritual and believe that all has an essence and these essences affect each other and can affect us. I guess the evidence is that the moon has an effect on water. However, the planets are a lot farther away than the moon so the effect of gravity from them would be very minor....

I found horoscopes and tarot cards fascinating when I was much younger, but I never believed in either. I think the astronomy and mathematics involved with astrological calculations interested me, not the mumbo-jumbo, and I'm sure it was the artwork on the tarot cards (and the fun I had doing readings at college parties) that attracted me more than any genuine belief that there was something to it.

I'm an atheist and I think that astrology is nonsense. I do believe that the moon influences the tides of the ocean, though. Does that count?

Next time you are in Texas, drop by the McDonald's Observatory for a star party. Ask them about astrology and how it relates to modern astronomy. The sky has changed. Superstition hasn't.

Good question :O) The Bible is against astrology so it's not surprising that people would rather believe in that than a God who cares about them. Jehovah told the Nation of Israel to have nothing to do with magic, spiritism, astrology, and speaking to the dead.

Astrology. One of the few things sillier than religion.
I know astrology isn't real. My palm reader told me so.

I don't believe in astrology. Oddly enough,it's for the same reason I don't believe in god.
