Yes, actually, crime rates have gone up steadily since the 60's when the ten commandments were taken out of the schools and other public places.

Consider carefully the argument about Christians in prison: were they Christian before or after their incarceration? I think you'll find that many convicts become converted while in prison, because of Prison Ministries reaching out to them. They weren't Christian criminals who suddenly got caught.

Just to clear things up; Godlessness does not mean a lack of morals, it just means that the person does not believe in or love the sadistic mass murderer of the Abrahamic religions.

As for factual evidence I have none, I would imagine it makes no difference, people can be equally moral with or without an invisible being in the sky. I personally know more Christians that take drugs and indulge in underage drinking than I do Atheists that do the same and around where I live there are more Atheists than Christians! Of course; this is only my local area though.

Violence has always been fought in the name of religion, and violence is a crime. Of course the reason is that many religious people are in fact godless. They use religion as a tool of power and oppression, not for spiritual enlightenment. Just look at the satanic 9/11 hijackers or the Spanish conquistadors. Because these people were religious but godless, they committed crimes against humanity. So I agree - yes, there is a correlation between crime and Godlessness.

Check the crime rates of the non-theistic Scandinavian countries against the crime rates of the United States where Christian fundamentalism and church attendance are among the highest on Earth. Note the low crime rates in the agnostic lands? Ever heard of a an Atheist suicide bomber?

Yes and no, you ask for facts, well crime amongst kids is higher now than it has ever been, and there are far few parents that teach their kids about God, I'm not saying they should go to church, but thy should be taught right and wrong, and no you don't need God for that, but if you go back a few years people were far in to religion than they are now, and there was more discipline often following the words of God, however the crime rate could be cut without Gods words, if there was discipline in prisons, youngsters have fun in prison, yes fun, some I am sad to say want to return to prison because its better in than out, did you know that they have a TV, DVD combos, and just about the worst punishment they can get is lose the TV for a month, but then some do gooder has a say and they often get it back, anyway another story.

One other thing they go to church in prison not to be near God, but to talk and see their mates

Who says a high percentage of prisoners are Christian...RUBBISH!!!The rise in crime has happened at the same time as the decline in church/chapel-going..in the UK at least. It doesn't take a genius to know that this is more than a coincidence. If kids were brought up properly, sent to Sunday school and chapel/church they would not turn out into feral thugs.
Jedi Mai..only 4% of British go to church...which atheist fairy tale book have you been reading??
You ask a prisoner his religion..is he going to tell the truth..scarcely believe..Christians follow God's will (real Christians do anyhow)..atheists don't believe in anything...morals or ethics.

Name a few countries where religious belief is the norm; Brazil, Italy, Mexico,Philippines,Colombia, USA. Which one of these countries has the worlds highest rate of gun crime, has the filthiest squalor, lowered life expectancy, child prostitution, institutionalised crime syndicates, drug abuse, civil, corporate and political corruption , below standard education and health facilities, and shameful social inequality ??? There is a strong correlation between religion and deprivation, leading to crime.

Yes, because the ungodly don't think that there is ever going to be a price to pay. So, they live their lives in a purely secular way, full of material pleasures, and will achieve this by any means, immoral or not, having first calculated that they can get away with it. They are not restrained by any moral or religious compass.

High crime rate is the result of Godless people exercising the Godless desires on society.

probably an inverse correlation..

a christian person doesnt necessarily align with all christian values, 100% of the time. in fact, i can only think of one guy who never sinned..

in any case, christians have had their indiscretions as well.
we perfected terrorism long before muslims or jews even dreamed of it, only it was legal when we did it. oh the wonders of having control of the government and being a part of the state religion :D
