I find menonite woman to be biachy and uptight and possibly even racist against minority groups. Are they supposed to be the symbol of what strict christianity is?

I am sad that you feel that way. All the Anabaptist groups I know are quite racially integrated. The Amish-Mennonites have missions in Haiti among other nations, and one of the (white) ministers at an OO fellowship I attend married a sister he met there.

I don't know many liberal Mennonites, though, so I can't answer for them. It seems quite doubtful to me, however. As far as Conservative Mennonites and Amish, if you are not female, we may seem stand-offish to you, since there are strict rules of conduct between male and female - but that is not racist, and I can't see how anyone would make that mistake. Try meeting with the women when their husbands or sons are present; perhaps you will feel differently.

(I edited this after reading your email. My original post was not meant to be critical of you - I really did feel sad that you have had bad experiences)

I suppose some of them could be racists, but I'm not going to tar all Mennonites with the same brush in that regard. I've never seen any black Mennonites, but it's my understanding that that's a lifestyle you have to be born into.
