I like poetry too and when I write a romantic poem I always liken love to something earthy.

There's a river that runs down a mountain
And it flows into the sea
Don't know just how it got started,
But I know that it's got to be
Our love is like that river
It will flow throughout all time
Heaven knows I need you
And I'll never change my mind

Writing them or finding them?

Read Shakespeare's sonnets..... read Annabel Lee by Poe.

Read the book, Possession, by A.S. Byatt. That is very romantic and full of poetry.
